The upcoming 2022 Porsche Macan EV has been spied for the first time. The arriving SUV will go on sale in a one-year time and here’s everything we know about it. After the first batch of images, some things are clearer now. The German manufacturer will offer an all-electric variant and Macan will become the second brand’s electrified model.

The 2022 Porsche Macan EV will host numerous changes. The goal is to deliver a slightly different design than the regular Macan has to offer. The platform is new. Macan EV is the first model that will ride on a new PPE (Premium Platform Electric). On the other hand, regular gasoline-powered Macan will continue to ride on a famous MLB architecture. Taycan model deploys the J1 platform so PPE is something completely different and new for Porsche.
Design-wise, Macan EV has been spied with a new looks. The front bumper is smoother and headlights ae slimmer than before. Moreover, spy shots are showing a coupe-like form with new taillights and a single exhaust on both sides. Some parts are perfectly camouflaged so we expect to see even more novelties.
Interior Updates
On the inside, new 2022 Porsche Macan EV will continue in the same premium fashion. The cabin is full of luxury and is full of high-quality materials. Moreover, Macan offers a lot of high-tech amenities and comfort is impressive. We are not surprised at all, but we expect to hear more about possible interior changes. Porsche will surely change a couple of things.
The rumors are suggesting a cabin that is closer to the Taycan model, which makes perfect sense. Some things are intact, such as touchscreen options or the infotainment system. On the other hand, Porsche will surely deliver new safety aids and more standard equipment.
Driving Range
As we said, the all-new PPE platform is available and it will cost an electric powertrain option. The 2022 Porsche Macan EV will borrow some things from the Taycan model, despite different platforms. Most likely, Porsche will deliver a 350kw charging capability and this SUV will also provide around 300 miles of range.
We expect a couple of different outputs with short and long-range battery packs. Unfortunately, there are no words about its performances. Lastly, Macan EV could arrive with a standard rear-wheel-drive setup, but this is another rumor. More details should become available in the first quarter of 2021.
2022 Porsche Macan EV Price and Release Date
The brand-new 2022 Porsche Macan EV will hit the dealerships in the second half of 2021. Most likely, we are talking about the last quarter of the year. The price will surely start at $70,000 or even higher. It is hard to predict exact price as we don’t know all of the details yet.
