The all-new 2021 Chevy Trax will be the next-gen model. Hopefully, Trax will get a complete redesign, because the current model is far from perfect. Moreover, the interior will probably keep its current design but this area will be equipped with more tech and more safety features.
Spy shots introduced the latest upgrades and we are delighted to see them. New Trax could arrive with larger dimensions, which will result in a more interior room. Under the hood, things will remain intact and the 2021 Trax will go on sale by the end of 2020.
2021 Trax Gets New Colors and Larger Dimensions
The forthcoming 2021 Chevy Trax will introduce significant cosmetic upgrades. The new-gen Trax comes with a redesign, followed by the new GM’s G2XX platform. This architecture also underpins the Buick Encore model. Thanks to that, Trax will slightly grow in size, but not drastically. The 2021 Trax will introduce two all-new exterior colors and new styling.
Chevrolet opted for a complete revamp of the front fascia. New headlights and grille are providing a refreshed look. The rear section will get new taillights are sportier bumper. This is very important because the current Trax does not look so attractive and modern. To complete a redesign, Chevy will deliver a sloping roof so the new Trax now looks more unique and stylish.
Interior Revamp
As for the interior, the new 2021 Chevy Trax will get drastic changes and upgrades. The cabin revamp comes with new color schemes, new upholstery, and new seats. While we think the exterior was the worst part of the Trax crossover, the interior always looked nice. Moreover, the cabin is practical and spacious. The 2021 model will improve in every category and that includes the technology department.
New model will introduce the latest infotainment system, more tech, and more driver-assistance aids. While Trax isn’t a premium model, the latest changes will significantly improve the level of comfort. Everything inside this model now looks modern and more stylish. Lastly, the latest dimensional changes will provide more cabin room. Thanks to that, the new Trax will get 52.0 cubic feet of cargo space.
Engine Lineup Probably Remains
Under the hood, the 2021 Chevy Trax comes with a 1.4-liter engine. The new platform won’t force Chevrolet to introduce a new powertrain option. That means the standard engine remains and it will produce 139 hp. Moreover, this 1.4-liter unit is capable of delivering 150 lb-ft of torque. At this moment, it is the only engine option.
While everyone reported about Trax getting the more powerful and optional engine, that will not happen. That means the customers will have to stick to the only engine choice. While it isn’t powerful, it provides 26 mpg in the city and 31 mpg on the highway. This ECOTEC engine will once again arrive with a standard front-wheel-drive setup.
2021 Chevy Trax Price and Release Date
The price of the next-gen 2021 Chevy Trax will start at $23,000. The range-topping trim level will become available for around $40,000. New Trax will go on sale by the end of 2020. Chevrolet will offer two editions this time, the Midnight Edition and the Redline Edition.
