2020 Toyota Sequoia: Redesign, Price, Arrival

The Toyota’s largest SUV is almost ready to hit the market sometime next year. And it is the 2020 Toyota Sequoia. The new Sequoia won’t be drastically changed from the current model. And it could only get some small changes mostly in the tech department. Under the hood, it will feature the same V-8 unit which will provide excellent towing capacities.

Engine and performance of the 2020 Toyota Sequoia

The upcoming 2020 Toyota Sequoia will return with one engine option. And it is the same unit which powers the current model. It is a strong 5.7-liter V-8 engine which will be able to deliver 381 hp and 401 lb-ft of torque. The engine will be mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission and its maximum towing capacity will be up to 7,400 pounds. It will come with both rear-wheel drive and all-wheel drive configurations. The rear-wheel drive version will be rated at 13 mpg in the city and 17 mpg on the highway. Connected to the all-wheel drive layout, it will get 13 mpg in the city and 17 mpg on the highway.

The exterior and interior design

The Sequoia remains the manufacturer’s largest, tallest, and the widest SUV in the lineup. And for the 2020 Toyota Sequoia will retain its familiar look with well-known bulky shape and soft curves all over the body. However, the Sequoia now looks more modern with sharper edges on both front and rear fascias and more chrome details. The front end is dominated by the same rectangular grille and pronounced bumper. Furthermore, the standard model will ride on the 18-inch alloy wheels. And the Limited model will get the larger 20-inch wheels.

2020 Toyota Sequoia side

Like the previous models, the 2020 Toyota Sequoia will come with a very spacious cabin and a standard three-row seating configuration. It will be able to place up to eight passengers comfortably. All the seats provide excellent room and are very cozy and supportive. Even the third row is spacious and can welcome adults; it is also easy to access because of the large doors and because the second row is sliding. Both second and third rows of seats can be folded down for more cargo room. Furthermore, the standard model will come with cloth upholstery while the leather seats will be available in the higher trim levels.

Equipment

All the models will come standard with LED daytime running lights, 18-inch alloys, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, power adjustable cloth seats, three-zone climate control, a 6.1-inch touchscreen for the infotainment system, etc. Unfortunately, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity won’t be available. The TRD Sort model will add darker exterior trim, 20-inch wheels, a sports suspension, Bilstein shocks, captain’s chairs for the second row, and so on. The Limited will come with a power tailgate, chrome mirrors caps and door handles, leather seats, a power folding third row, and navigation.
