Dacia is giving its whole lineup significant refreshments. One of the most exciting models will be the 2020 Dacia Sandero. Sandero SUV will be the new-gen model and we can expect drastic changes. For the start, this model will gain huge improvements in terms of design and interior comfort.
New Sandero will be modernized and it could get its first hybrid drivetrain. Romanian carmaker will try to offer even better performances, with a rumored new diesel engine as well. Third-generation Sandero will arrive later in 2019. Speaking of performances, the Stepway variant will be available too.
Exterior and Interior Redesign
New 2020 Dacia Sandero will gain significant upgrades and changes. First of all, the new platform is on the way. The aging platform B0 platform is gone and the all-new CMF-B platform will be available. The same platform is currently underpinning Logan sedan. Besides the new platform, Sandero will gain new front fascia.
That includes revise of the headlights and the front grille. The bumper will be slightly larger. In the back, all-new taillights will be in the offer, along with the same enlarged bumper. Dacia will most likely deliver new optional wheels and higher trim levels will look even more premium. From the inside, we can’t predict drastic changes or we can’t imagine them. At least, we can expect numerous updates, which includes updates of the technology and safety systems.
2020 Dacia Sandero Hybrid
The upcoming SUV could get its first hybrid drivetrain. Yes, the 2020 Dacia Sandero is going hybrid and it is not surprising at all. It is a part of the partnership with Renault. The French automotive giant plans to hybridize all of its vehicles before 2030.
It is a long shot, but the plan has already started. It is still a mystery what output will power new Sandero. However, the most likely outcome is a hybrid engine that will not significantly improve the performances and the focus will be on the fuel economy.
Two Engine Choices
The forthcoming 2020 Dacia Sandero comes with a standard 1.0-liter engine that produces 75 horses. A 1.5-liter turbodiesel will be an optional engine and it will deliver around 95 hp. Now, there are rumors about the new turbocharged engine that will deliver over 120 hp but this is just a speculation for now.
2020 Dacia Sandero Stepway
If you are looking for a high-performance variant, then you should opt for the Stepway model. This off-road capable variant comes with more ground clearance and it offers numerous off-road equipment. That includes skid plates, roof rails and much more.
Just like the base model, Sandero Stepway will also introduce major upgrades. The cabin will be much better in terms of quality and comfort. The exterior will get a couple of more tweaks that should draw even more attention.
Price and Release Date
The all-new 2020 Dacia Sandero will cost slightly over $10,000. Upper trim levels are priced at over $12,000 and Stepway variant will cost slightly above that. New Sandero SUV will arrive in the last quarter of 2019.
