Cadillac has big plans for its crossover SUV lineup. The all-new 2020 Cadillac XT7 is one of the most exciting models in the near future. New XT7 will ride on the famous Omega architecture. It comes with a unique and interesting design. It is a coupe-like full-size crossover that will surely arrive as a four-door model.
On the other hand, most of the details are not available yet. Some details are proof that we are dealing with a very attractive model with plenty of luxury in the offer. Interior looks very modern and it feels comfortable. Under the bonnet, the 2020 XT7 will get at least two engine choices.
Exterior Design is Based on the CT6 Design
As the latest reports are suggesting, Cadillac won’t introduce any type of surprises. The upcoming 2020 Cadillac XT7 will look almost the same as the rest of the XT lineup. The same design language and similar styling cues don’t sound that much unique at all. However, XT7 will be one very handsome and modern vehicle. It comes with a coupe-like appearance and it will compete in the full-size segment. XT7 will ride on GM’s famous Omega platform.
Moreover, this crossover will arrive only in a four-door variant. The front part looks similar to the CT6 sedan. On the other hand, some styling cues are clearly taken from the X5 model. Of course, the 2020 XT7 comes with larger features. That includes larger grille and headlights. A coupe-like roofline is visible at first glance. Upper trim levels will get more chrome details and overall, more luxury. Unfortunately, we are still not sure how the rear part will look.
2020 XT7 Luxury Interior
When it comes to interior design, it will look very modern. The comfort is guaranteed with literally every Cadillac’s model. However, the 2020 Cadillac XT7 will offer plenty of high-quality materials and soft-touch surfaces. Interior looks very upscale and modern. On the other hand, some parts are still a mystery. That includes the seating layout and optional features. New XT7 will surely offer a room for at least six or seven passengers. However, don’t exclude the possibility of the eight-seat configuration.
That means there will be three rows of seats. Upper trim levels are offering captain’s chairs which will reduce the number of available space. On the other hand, legroom and headroom will be very generous. We are still hoping for some unique details such as a dashboard or center stack. Furthermore, larger displays are very certain and we can expect a great safety rating.
Engine Specs and Speculations
When it arrives, the 2020 Cadillac XT7 will ride on a standard 3.6-liter V6. This powerful engine delivers 335 horsepower. However, the optional engine is a must for this full-size crossover. The most likely candidate is a 3.0-liter V6 twin-turbo that produces up to 400 horsepower and 395 lb-ft of torque. A 4.2-liter twin-turbo is another possibility.
This engine is larger and heavier but it cranks out 500 hp. Another mystery is the transmission. However, Cadillac will most likely deploy a new 10-speed automatic gearbox. If not, you can bet on the manufacturer’s reliable 8-speed automatic transmission. The 2020 XT7 will deploy a standard rear-wheel-drive setup thanks to its Omega architecture.
2020 Cadillac XT7 Price and Release Date
Cadillac is still silent of many of the vehicle’s details and that includes the pricing information. The manufacturer will release full details closer to the release date.
We predict the price to start in the mid-range $40,000 for the base trim level. The 2020 Cadillac XT7 will be released by the end of 2019. Possibly this September.
