2020 Acura CDX is Heading to the U.S.

The forthcoming 2020 Acura CDX will finally arrive in the United States. This model is already available in China and it represents Acura’s version of Honda HR-V. Honda used this name first, but CDX will now apply to a new Acura’s small crossover. The 2020 CDX looks luxurious from the inside, but it belongs to the B-market.

This subcompact crossover will also arrive in Europe. It will try to rival models such as Audi Q3 and BMW X1. Under the hood, Acura CDX offers a 1.5-liter turbo engine. Crossover is powerful enough, it looks modern and attractive. The price is in line with the rest of the competition.

This model rides on the same platform as the Honda HR-V model. The 2020 Acura CDX is actually dimensionally similar to the HR-V. It is 177 inches long and 72.4 inches wide. Height of this subcompact crossover is rated at 63.5 inches.

Wheelbase measures 104.6 inches. On top of that, the new CDX crossover will be very light, lighter than the rest of the competition. Thanks to such small dimensions and great aerodynamics, we expect great fuel economy figures.

The all-new 2020 Acura CDX comes with a 1.5-liter four-cylinder turbocharged engine. Whatsoever, this is the only engine option, at least for now. It can produce 182 horsepower and 177 lb-ft of torque. It also comes with 8-speed automatic transmission.

CDX offers a front-wheel-drive as standard, while the all-wheel-drive system is optional. The upcoming crossover accelerates from 0 to 60 mph in 8.2 seconds.

Latest speculations are saying that the 2020 Acura CDX will hit the dealerships with a hybrid drivetrain. The same speculations are predicting a combination of a 1.5-liter engine and an electric motor. In Japan, a similar system can be found inside the Honda Vezel model.

Vezel is producing 130 horsepower and 115 lb-ft of torque. However, CDX will surely deliver around 200 hp and over 200 lb-ft of torque. More importantly, we can expect around 40 mpg combined in some areas.

United States Arrival Date

Acura confirmed that its new CDX model will finally arrive in the United States. Acura’s RDX model had a similar path, but it finally made it to North America. Now, the 2020 Acura CDX will hit the dealerships in the U.S. at the beginning of 2020.

Pricing Details

Acura is one premium brand and an established manufacturer. Exact price details are not available yet. However, having in mind that the Lexus NX plug-in hybrid starts at $38,500 we can expect a similar price for the CDX Hybrid.

The base Acura CDX model will start at around $33,000. This model will also arrive in Asia and Europe. In Europe, CDX will look to rival Mercedes-Benz GLA, BMW X1, and Audi Q3.
