The all-new 2021 Kia Sportage is getting additional refreshments. However, the changes are far from significant. Instead, Kia will deliver another mid-cycle facelift. Sportage is a small SUV that slots between Sorento and Seltos. Interestingly, Sportage shares a lot of components with Hyundai Tucson. Moreover, Sportage offers a tech-rich interior and various optional packages that are affordable.
Its design is striking and modern, and the small SUV offers two powertrain options. Kia won’t change the lineup of trim levels, and the price should remain intact as well. New Sportage remains an affordable option in its segment, and it will go on sale by the end of the year.
2021 Sportage Exterior Design
The upcoming 2021 Kia Sportage will introduce minor cosmetic upgrades. It is another year where Sportage enters the mid-cycle refreshments. Thanks to that, most of the vehicle’s styling will remain. Whatsoever, Sportage comes with a fresh-looking appearance, and it looks very modern. The headlights will be reshaped, and the rear part will host modified taillights.
However, those upgrades are barely visible. New turn indicators are available, along with the new projector-beam for fog lights. The current model arrived with a larger air intake and new bumpers. Thanks to that, the 2021 Sportage will wear a refreshed design, and it will ride on stylish 17-inch wheels. Lastly, Kia will offer new Steel Grey Metallic exterior color.
Interior Upgrades
The interior of the 2021 Kia Sportage will also gain a couple of interesting updates. Again, none of these upgrades are drastic. New Sportage SUV will arrive with a new version of the infotainment system and additional driver-assistance aids. Features such as smart cruise control and lane-keep assist are now available, but it will be optional.
High beam assist is another novelty, along with the pedestrian detection and forward collision warning. Interior design remains, including the interior layout. Kia won’t deliver new upholstery, so the level of comfort is unchanged.
Engine Options
The arriving model will use the same two engine options. The 2021 Kia Sportage comes with a standard 2.4-liter four-cylinder gasoline powertrain. This engine is capable of producing 181 hp and 175 lb-ft of torque. Moreover, a front-wheel-drive system is offered as standard. On top of that, a six-speed automatic transmission is in the offer. As before, an all-wheel-drive setup is optional, and we’d recommend it to everyone.
The AWD configuration will significantly improve the ride quality. If you want more power, opt for the SX Turbo trim level. This trim comes with a 2.0-liter turbo-four engine that delivers 240 horsepower. Moreover, 260 lb-ft of torque is more than enough for SUV, such as Sportage. The optional powertrain uses the same transmission, but its fuel economy ratings are slightly lower.
2021 Kia Sportage Price and Release Date
The approaching 2021 Kia Sportage will cost $24,500. That means the price won’t change in 2021, which makes perfect sense. The mentioned SX Turbo trim is available for about $34,000.
The Korean manufacturer will release a new Sportage SUV this November. Kia Sportage remains an affordable model in its segment, and Kia also offers a great warranty for it.
