Not to mention that electric vehicles save a lot of money for drivers in the long run. We can expect a stylish interior with amazing technology. On the outside, expect a sleek and stylish design. On top of being aerodynamic and ergonomic, The powertrain is also amazing on paper, but tests will show how well that translates to the road.
Let’s dig deeper into the review of the new Mercedes SUV.
2024 Mercedes-Benz EQC SUV Exterior
On the outside, the 2024 Mercedes-Benz EQC SUV is a work of art. It has a step for getting in, which is great ease of access. They have large 19-inch wheels that are lightweight aluminum to shave off some weight. On the front is a fascia with a big, well-known Mercedes sign. Air intakes are not needed since there is no internal combustion engine.
Everything is under the cabin for better balance. We get extra cargo space under the hood. The design is sleek and aerodynamic to improve fuel economy and steering. Headlights are rectangular and extend to the side. Also, a unified LED bar is on the front and stop lights are on the back stretching from left to right. There is also a solar roof. This will slowly recharge the battery pack and can come in handy in a pinch.
The interior of the 2024 Mercedes-Benz EQC SUV is as exclusive as they get. Expect a perfectly designed interior that never goes out of style. We get well cushioned seating with a massaging feature, as well as heating and ventilation. This is a two-row SUV for now. Perhaps there will be trims with three rows, which would be just as amazing. Expect great, updated technology with top-of-the-line infotainment.
Safety features are standard: lane departure alert, automatic brakes, front collision alert and many others. Hands-free driving is what we are hoping for. Mercedes is a serious player, and this would prove that. Hopefully, they will invest in a system of their own. Ford and GM cover around 2000 miles of pre-mapped interstate roads in the US. Perhaps Mercedes covers that and Europe as well. The dashboard is digital as well, and this allows for easier tracking of information.
2024 Mercedes-Benz EQC Specs
This is another instance of Mercedes doing what they do best. delivering amazingly engineered vehicles with amazing powertrains. To some degree, electric powertrains are a novelty. But Mercedes has invested heavily in this department and has a lot to offer. The new 2024 Mercedes-Benz EQC SUV has two trim levels. First up is a rear-wheel drive 450+ and we have a 4Matic with a dual engine. The first one can produce 355 horsepower and 420 pound-feet of torque. It does have only a rear axle motor. But the 4Matic one produces 536 horsepower and 633 pound-feet of torque.
The second trim will also have a torque shift function. This allows for a seamless distribution of driving torque among the front and rear electric motors. It is nice to see an SUV with a dual motor setup. This greatly improves power and torque. Tesla did something similar with the Cybertruck and went up to three motors. The top speed and zero to sixty are not known at the moment. We will have to wait for some further testing. The battery pack has only 107 kWh. This might sound a bit anemic. But we assure you that engineers at the German manufacturer know what they are doing.
Range, Charging Speed
The 2024 Mercedes-Benz EQC can provide 370 miles on a single charge, which is amazing for an SUV of that size. Also, the new model uses a DC charging to get from 10 % to 80% in just under 30 minutes. It has fast charging and peer-to-peer charging. This makes it one of the top SUVs to go for on the market. Perhaps there is an opportunity to upgrade the battery pack. Making it bigger gives more power and better range, which would be undisputed in the class.
The new platform that will support all of the components is called MMA. All of the parts will be under the cabin. This improves handling and stability on the road. With this type of technology, Mercedes is creating trouble for the top dog in the segment. We are talking about the Tesla Model X. If this release goes well, we can expect Mercedes to electrify many of their other models. This is a good step towards saving the environment.
No real tests were conducted at the moment. But expect the 2024 Mercedes-Benz EQC SUV to get around 90-100 mpge. This is on par with most other SUVs on the market that run on battery packs. Upgrading the battery pack would improve this further.
How Much Will the EQC Cost?
The release of this exclusive SUV is planned for the second half of 2023. The brand new 2024 Mercedes-Benz EQC SUV should cost between $100,000 and $110,000.
This is a hefty price, but you know what you are getting with the pedigree. Direct competitors are the BMW iX, and Tesla Model X.
