Another SUV is getting a touch-up, get ready for the new 2024 Audi Q3. The current version of the Q3 is one of the top-selling vehicles in that category. The German manufacturer is well known for building sturdy, long-lasting, and well-performing cars. That also extends to other categories of vehicles. Including the SUV segment. The Q3 has a nice output of power, it has the style to go along, and is updated frequently. The competition for the top dog in that category is fierce. There are many competitors including Mercedes-Benz’s GLA class, Jaguar F-pace, BMW X class, and others.
Considering this, the Audi designers have to pull all the stops to make the Q3 hold up in a fight with those. The inside of the Q3 should receive serious updates. The cabin looks stale and the technology is a bit outdated. Meaning there are many updates upcoming in this redesign. The outside of the SUV will probably stay the same. Minor tweaks will happen to improve the style and bring some better functionality on the road. However, the powertrain might receive a big update, but nothing is certain as of yet. Let’s take a look at what the new Audi Q3 will look like.
Audi Q3 Interior Updates
In the world of high-end vehicles, Audi continues to produce many of the most luxurious interiors. The interior of the 2024 Audi Q3 is of the finest level, with premium materials and a luxurious design. Although it is not nearly as good as the larger, more expensive Audi SUVs, the cabin is one of the prettiest in its class overall. As standard inside features, the car comes with leather upholstery, heated front chairs, a moonroof, tri-zone automatic climate control, and modern technology including a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster. You can choose from a selection of interior colors and wood or aluminum trim.
If you select the Black Optic Sport Package, you can upgrade to sports seats with contrasting stitching. The number of passengers is respectable for an SUV its size. All rows of the new Q3 have plenty of head and leg room, as well as the option to move and recline backward. Adults can sit in their seats. For freight, there is a little bit more space than usual for this class, but not much. The interior space behind the rear seats increases to 48 cubic feet when the rear seats are folded down.
Modern Styling
The new 2024 Audi Q3 is looking dashing still. However, there are only three new wheel designs and new shade options. There are no cosmetic changes. The remaining points are unchanged. This relates to the mechanical component of the truck as well as the design. In comparison to other Audi SUVs, this model’s auto mechanics are a little unique. It is built on an uncommon MQB chassis, which is primarily utilized for more affordable VW designs.
The format is still the key distinction because this platform features a transversally placed engine rather than a longitudinal configuration. All-wheel drive is common, as we’ve already covered, but take into consideration that this model doesn’t have a Torsen differential like conventional Quattro vehicles do; instead, it has a Haldex, so it’s understandable why experts disagree on whether this SUV actually has an all-wheel drive system. Nevertheless, the handling makes up for it and offers a satisfying driving experience.
Engine Specs
This aspect doesn’t alter, and the 2024 Audi Q3 will still be available in two well-known configurations, each powered by a 2.0-liter drivetrain. Base models have 184 horsepower and 221 pound-feet of torque, which is more than enough to ensure a pleasurable and also positive driving experience. The more potent model of this engine, which generates 228 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque, is what we would recommend instead because it offers superior driving characteristics and overall performance.
An eight-gear automatic gearbox, which is not the fastest but is dependable, is included with both devices. But this does come as a bit of a shock. Everyone is trying to race and get their SUVs to go electric. Many have succeeded in doing that. But Audi seems laid back about this agenda. The upgrade from internal combustion to electrical isn’t as easy as it seems. The architecture and the platform should be changed. This would allow the Q3 to accommodate the electrical powertrain components.
The battery pack though needs to be good enough and big enough. The Q3 isn’t too small, so it does have a certain weight to it. At least a 150-kWh battery should be enough, but no reason for Audi to go overboard a bit. Going upwards of that should outmatch the current powertrain output easily. Also, it would give a great range on a single charge. Two electrical motors should do the trick, one for each axle. Although some vehicles have up to 4 motors, one for each wheel. But that might be pushing it too far. The electrification in question isn’t happening this time around. Perhaps next year we see some confirmation of it.
Fuel Economy
The upcoming 2024 Audi Q3 will have decent mileage. Per reports and tests, it can get 23 mpg of combined driving. In the city, it achieves 20 mpg and the highway is 28 mpg. This would greatly be improved with a better hybrid powertrain or going fully electric.
2024 Audi Q3 Price and Release Date
The fresh 2024 Audi Q3 is not on the cheaper side either. It will arrive later during 2023, probably fall. The price for the standard Premium trim of the Q3 40 TFSI is $36,400, Premium Plus is $39,700. The Q3 S Line 45 TFSI is $42,000 and Premium Plus is $38,700. The competition is fierce, it includes the Mercedes-Benz GLA Class, Volvo XC40, Jaguar F-Pace, BMW’s X class, and others.
