Another redesign is coming our way. The 2023 Jeep Compass Trailhawk is about to hit the road. Jeep has gained a lot of traction over the years. They have been top sellers among SUVs and pickup trucks. Their fleet is getting bigger, and people are enjoying their creations. The current generation of Jeep Compass has been around for five years. Each year it gets a redesign with much-needed improvements. Each year it gets better, so we can expect the trend to keep going.
The Compass has a lot of competition in that category of SUVs. It needs to check a lot of marks to stay competitive. Although the price tag isn’t hefty, it is still stylish and has a lot of new technology inside. It still has that classic Jeep look but is modernized and contemporary in order to follow style trends in the market. There are some alternative materials used to give it some luxury. The price should remain in the ballpark of the previous one. After all, this is a carryover model. The powertrain department might get the biggest shuffle.
Read along to find out more about the upcoming 2023 Jeep Compass Trailhawk.
2023 Jeep Compass Trailhawk Exterior
On the outside, the 2023 Jeep Compass Trailhawk looks menacing. It has a commendable ride height and beefy tires with 18-inch wheel alloys. These are lightweight to shave off some weight. This will help the Compass Trailhawk zoom across obstacles. On the front, we have a 7-piece air intake above the bumper, which fits into the design and isn’t eye-catching at all. Headlights are linear and use the latest LED technology. The hood has some curves and we consider it sporty.
Overall, the body design is made that way in order to maximize aerodynamics and ergonomics. This can help the Jeep Compass move and handle better on and off the paved road. The Trailhawk also has an Active Drive Low 4×4 system. This is just one of the off-roading technologies offered with this trim. This trim also comes with a 1-inch higher ride height and steel skid plates.
What’s New Inside?
On the inside, we are getting a sophisticated cabin with contemporary style. The brand new 2023 Jeep Compass Trailhawk has all it needs to compete with more expensive interiors. If you didn’t expect top-quality styling and design from Jeep, then you would be wrong. Designers did an excellent job of positioning the Compass to compete with the Mercedes-Benz G-class and BMW X-class. The seating has much better cushioning. This will be noticeable on the Trailhawk especially. After all, it is an off-roading-centered SUV. So we can expect to take on wild paths. Having that extra bit of cushioning gives you the comfort to enjoy the ride.
Also, improved lumbar support was made. Heated and ventilated seats are standard, as are massaging seats. The instrument panel has some alternative materials on it. This comes in the form of chrome and leather. Also, carbon is present. It has a minimalistic look with fewer buttons than usual. Most of the controls have been moved to the infotainment system.
It has a 10-inch touchscreen. Connectivity is standard with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. We also get an Alpine audio system. The dashboard is digital as well, which is a nice change of pace. This allows for easier customization and tracking of important information. The safety aspect is addressed by this. Some other safety features include collision warning, automatic brakes, lane change alert, and blind spot warning. Hands-free driving is rumored but not confirmed. It will be interesting to see if Jeep invests in its own software or borrows one from an already proven manufacturer.
2023 Jeep Compass Trailhawk Powertrain Specs
Jeep is going to stay true to its tested and proven engines. The 2023 Jeep Compass Trailhawk is going to continue to sport a 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine. This not-so-big powertrain produces 180 horsepower. It comes with an all-wheel drive and a front-wheel drive. As far as transmission is concerned, we have a 6-speed and a 9-speed automatic. As revealed at the Chicago Auto Show, the Compass isn’t going to change much under the hood.
The fuel economy is also the same. With front-wheel drive, you can get 22 mpg in the city and 31 on the open road. All-wheel drive will give you 22 mpg in the city, 30 on the open road, and 25 combined. We are also interested in the long-awaited hybrid powertrains.
Hybrid and Electric Rumors
There are rumors circulating and this is something we hope to become reality. A hybrid version would probably use a small turbocharged 4-cylinder with a 48-volt generator. This adds some horsepower and better utilizes fuel. So fuel economy would be addressed by this. In the long run, you can save a lot on fuel since we have all noticed how high the prices are. But we can also save the environment with these. Many manufacturers have vowed to make their fleets all-electric by 2030, so why not jump on the hype train?
The fully electric 2023 Jeep Compass Trailhawk hasn’t been announced as of yet. But it can become a reality very quickly. Technology is available, hopefully at least a 150 kWh battery pack. There are also some systems that regenerate power spent through braking, let’s say. Also, a fast charging feature would be welcome. Having the ability to go 100 miles on 10 minutes of charge is excellent in a pinch. But the range shouldn’t be less than 250-300 miles. This way, Jeep stays on top of its competition.
Price and Release Date
There will be five trim levels for the 2023 Jeep Compass. We get Sport, Latitude, Latitude Lux, Limited, and Trailhawk. The Trailhawk might be the most fun, with AWD and a six-speed automatic. It also appears to be best suited for off-roading.
The basic trim costs around $25000, but the most expensive Trailhawk trim will cost $32,000. This is due to its better technology and being better equipped. Expect to see the 2023 Jeep Compass Trailhawk on the road later this year.
