2022 XC90 Redesign
Volvo said the new-gen XC90 will offer a modern look as always before. The exterior redesign is confirmed so the 2022 Volvo XC90 will get numerous visual updates. Some of them will be significant for sure. For a start, this SUV will ride on Volvo’s new SPA platform. We expect other XC models to get the same architecture in the near future.
New XC90 will get a more stylish front fascia with brand-new headlights. We already said that some of the changes are still a mystery. However, Volvo will introduce a new and larger XC100 model for the first time. This model will be unveiled soon and it will give us an idea of how the new-generation XC90 could look like.
Volvo Offers Level 4 Autonomous Driving
According to the latest stories, the new 2022 Volvo XC90 will get even more updates inside the cabin. Volvo is known as a manufacturer that puts a lot of work into autonomous driving technologies. It is predicted that Volvo will become the first automaker that will produce a fully autonomous vehicle. As for the new XC90 SUV, this model will feature Level 4 autonomous driving. This level allows both hands-free and eyes-free driving capability.
Trim levels won’t change, so the base trim level is Momentum T5 once again. However, all trim levels will now offer more standard features. Regular XC90 model comes with standard Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, power moonroof, power-adjustable front seats, and much more. This SUV is full of new driver-assistance aids but some of them will be offered as optional. All trim levels are luxurious but the range-topping trims are on a whole another level.
XC90 SUV Won’t Use Gasoline and Diesel Engines
As we said, we don’t know if the 2022 Volvo XC90 will offer a gasoline engine. The 2021 model could be the last one that offers a conventional powertrain option. The next-gen XC90 will arrive with an all-electric powertrain and probably with some sort of hybrid setup.

The price of the all-new 2022 Volvo XC90 will now cost around $50,000. The price will surely increase, so other trim levels such as Momentum will cost up to $65,000. Volvo will launch its new SUV in the later stages of 2021, most likely in the last quarter.
