The forthcoming 2022 Infiniti QX60 will go on sale next year. The sales should begin in the first quarter of 2022 and the new QX60 SUV will gain a couple of upgrades. As you know, the 2021 model didn’t arrive at all, for obvious reasons. Thanks to that, the 2021MY will transform into 2022MY, which makes sense. The first spy photos and teaser videos are available.
The video shows a quieter ride but the current V6 engine will remain. However, the new transmission is the big news everyone wanted to hear. Besides that, the rest of the QX60 will gain mid-cycle refreshments. The price will increase, but not significantly, and here’s everything you need to know.
Infiniti QX60 Spy Shots
The 2022 Infiniti QX60 will continue to offer the same sleek design and rounded shape. However, the mid-cycle facelift will happen, and here’s what’s new. For a start, new signature LED headlights are available. When it comes to the front fascia, things such as the double-wave hood and double-arch grille will remain intact.
To the sides, Infiniti will deliver minor changes, the lines are sharper and the roof is sloping a little bit more. We don’t know what will happen with the rear section and the taillights. However, Infiniti will surely offer a power-operated liftgate as standard. Lastly, new exterior colors are a possibility as well.
Interior Updates
What we like about the Infiniti is its modern cabin with a high level of comfort. The 2022 Infiniti QX60 is exactly that. There will be three rows of seats and a room for seven passengers. And while the interior room is generous, third-row is recommended for kids only. Infiniti offers a standard leatherette upholstery for better comfort, but real leather is optional once again.
The 2022MY will get a longer list of standard features, so the base trim level will benefit the most. Still, the rest of the trim levels will also gain various improvements, mostly in terms of technology. The manufacturer will provide new driver-assistance aids, but we won’t be seeing larger displays or some other important upgrades.
V6 Engine Specifications
The all-new 2022 Infiniti QX60 continues to offer the same 3.5-liter V6. This is a good thing as the powerful gasoline engine develops 295 horsepower and 270 lb-ft of torque. However, one significant upgrade is about to happen. As we already wrote, the QX60 SUV is getting a new 9-speed automatic transmission. This means the CVT variant is gone now, and this model will now provide even better ride quality.
The platform won’t change so QX60 SUV remains a front-wheel-drive model with an optional and brand-new intelligent all-wheel-drive. The engine provides 20 mpg in the city and 27 mpg on the highway and the AWD system will lower those figures by a slight margin. Lastly, a hybrid powertrain is a possibility, but this is just a rumor, so we’ll write about this once Infiniti makes it official.
2022 Infiniti QX60 Price, Release Date
The price of the 2022 Infiniti QX60 will start at about $44,000. It is a small jump in terms of price, but the new transmission is a very nice addition in our opinion. The sales will begin in the first quarter of 2022 and Infiniti is yet to reveal all of the details.
