New 2021 Kia XCeed is about to introduce further improvements, after its first successful year. The second year of the production will bring more interesting upgrades. The highlight will be the hybrid powertrain. As before, XCeed will remain a front-wheel-drive crossover that slots below Sportage and above the Stonic model. Most of the cues and features will carryover into 2021.
However, the hybrid powertrain is a serious step forward. The XCeed crossover is based on the Ceed hatchback, and the two models will continue to share plenty of similarities. However, XCeed will continue with a more rugged look, and it will deliver more interior room. Besides that, the two models are almost the same in so many aspects.
2021 XCeed Changes
The upcoming 2021 Kia XCeed will continue with the same exterior design. Kia calls it „urban crossover, “ but we don’t see anything urban about it. Instead, XCeed is a modern crossover with a fresh design and stylish appearance. However, we can’t call it unique, as it borrows most of the things from the Ceed hatchback. Of course, the crossover variant looks more rugged and is 3.3 inches longer. The XCeed model is exactly 173.0 inches long, 71.8 inches wide, and 58.7 inches tall.
16-inch wheels are offered as standard once again, which means the 18-inch rims will remain optional. Quantum Yellow is the most popular exterior color among the customers, but Kia offers its model in various different paints. Everything about this crossover looks sleek, especially the front fascia with recognizable headlights and a tiger-nose grille.
Modern Interior Design
The interior of the 2021 Kia XCeed will remain modern and practical. Again, there are no real differences between hatchback and crossover versions in terms of cabin design. The XCeed is a small crossover, but it offers a surprisingly spacious cabin. The legroom is satisfying in both rows, and the comfort is great. The infotainment system will get an update, and we should expect more driver-assistance.
On the other hand, new safety aids will be optional on the base trim level. Kia did a great job by reducing the noise, so the ride is even more pleasant than before. A two-step cargo floor is in the offer, along with the all-digital instrument cluster and its 12.3-inch display.
Hybrid Engine Rumors
New 2021 Kia XCeed will continue to offer the same 1.0-liter engine with 120 horsepower and 172 lb-ft of torque. On top of that, an optional 1.4-liter turbocharged engine is available, and it generates 204 hp and 195 lb-ft of twists. Diesel powertrain will be available in some parts of the world. It is a 1.6-liter diesel, rated at 116 horsepower and 207 lb-ft of torque.
However, the highlight could be a hybrid powertrain. The latest reports are strongly suggesting some sort of hybrid version, but exact details are not available yet, and nothing is official. Kia will release more info in the coming weeks. No matter which engine you opt for, XCeed crossover comes with a dual-clutch transmission.
2021 Kia XCeed Price and Release Date
The price of the forthcoming 2021 Kia XCeed starts at about $20k. This crossover will firstly arrive in Europe, but it won’t become available in the U.S.
The changes are minor, so the price remains but speculated hybrid variant could arrive, and it should cost around $25,000. The sales will begin by the end of 2020.
