2020 VW Tiguan: Facelift, Changes, Price

Sometime in the end of next year, we are hoping to see the newest 2020 VW Tiguan. The new Tiguan will keep up with the same engine as the outgoing model, but we assume that it will be slightly revised meaning that it will get a few minor changes inside and out. Perhaps the manufacturer will offer some new packages as well.

Under the hood

The new 2020 VW Tiguan will return with one engine option beneath its hood and it is the same engine which powers the current model. So, this time, we won’t see any changes on the engine front. And it is the familiar 2.0-liter inline-4 turbocharged engine which is able to produce 184 horses and the torque of 221 pound-feet. The engine is mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission and its maximum towing capacity is limited to 1,500 pounds.

The Tiguan will be offered with two drivetrains so there will be a choice between front-wheel and all-wheel drive configurations. As for the fuel economy, it will get 22 mpg in the city and 29 mpg on the highway with front-wheel drive. The all-wheel drive model will be rated at 21 mpg in the city and 29 mpg on the highway.

The exterior and interior design of the 2020 VW Tiguan

Like the current model, the 2020 VW Tiguan will keep its conservative but attractive styling. The front end is nicely sculpted and only the SEL Premium model will get LED headlamps and cool daytime running lights. The rear end is also well designed and comes with sophisticated LED taillights. Furthermore, there is an available R-Line package which will give it a sportier look and larger wheels with a unique design.

Inside, the 2020 VW Tiguan will be available with the third row of seats which however, is a bit crowded so we must admit that it is the best for smaller adults or better children. However, the two-row seating configuration with ability to place up to five passengers is very spacious and provides excellent comfort. This variant will have great cargo space as well which measures 37.6 cubic feet. Both, second and the third row will be able to fold down, which will expand the cargo room if needed. In the center of the dashboard, there will be a standard 6.5-inch touchscreen for the infotainment system.
