The new 2020 Volvo XC40 will soon be ready to hit the dealerships with a few changes this time. Although we don’t anticipate many upgrades, the upcoming XC40 should get some new exterior colors and new designs of the wheels. The engine will be mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission and will come standard with all-wheel drive system. It will be rated at 23 mpg in the city and 31 mpg on the highway.
On the other hand, the 2020 Volvo XC40 T4 will be powered by the same 2.0-liter turbocharged inline-4 unit. But this one will be capable of making 187 hp and 221 lb-ft of torque. It will be linked to the same 8-speed automatic gearbox but the front-wheel drive system will be standard. As for the fuel economy, it will get 23 mpg in the city, 33 mpg on the highway and 27 mpg combined.
The exterior and interior design of the 2020 Volvo XC40
When it comes to exterior design, the new 2020 Volvo XC40 shouldn’t get any large changes compared to the outgoing model. So, this time it should receive some new exterior colors and maybe some new designs of the wheels. The whole body will feature angular lines and the familiar rugged appearance. The front end will get the same concave grille and a pair of “Thor’s hammer” headlights. Around back, there will be the dual exhaust outlets and a power tailgate. Furthermore, the R-Design models will get the black roof while the Momentum model will feature a white contratsst roof.
The interior of the 2020 Volvo XC40 is functional, cozy, and modern. The seats are comfortable and the drive position is great. The dashboard will be fitted with a standard 9.0-inch touchscreen for the infotainment system. There will also be a 12.3-inch digital driver display. Behind the rear seats, the XC40 will offer the cargo room of 20.7 cubes while with the rear seats folded down, it will expand to 47.2 cubic feet.

The standard features of the 2020 Volvo XC40 will include LED headlights and taillights, 18-inch wheels, leather seats, Bluetooth, a 9.0-inch touchscreen, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, power adjustable driver’s seat, automatic climate control, and so on. The higher trim levels will add dual-zone climate control, a panoramic sunroof, 19-inch wheels, a power passengers seat, etc.
