2020 Nissan Pathfinder: Interior, Redesign, Specs

The arrival of the new 2020 Nissan Pathfinder has already been confirmed. However, the carmaker still hasn’t confirmed if the upcoming Pathfinder will bring some major changes. On the other hand, we assume that a complete overhaul is set for the 2021 model year, and in that case, the 2020 Pathfinder could only get some small upgrades on the technology front. The hybrid version of this model could also appear at some point in future.

Engine and performance of the 2020 Nissan Pathfinder

Beneath the hood of the 2020 Nissan Pathfinder will most likely sit the same engine which powers the current model. It is a 3.5-liter V-6 engine which will in the same time be the only option for all the trim levels. This engine has the output of 284 horsepower and 259 pound-feet of torque. It is mated to a continuously variable transmission and comes with a choice between front-wheel and all-wheel drive configurations. The front-wheel drive model gets 20 mpg in the city, 27 mpg on the highway, and 23 mpg combined. The all-wheel drive model is rated at 19 mpg in the city, 26 mpg on the highway, and 22 mpg combined. The Pathfinder can tow up to 6,000 pounds. Furthermore, the hybrid version could easily be found too, but for now, we don’t have any specific information.

Design of exterior and interior

When it comes to external appearance, it is still not clear whether the 2020 Nissan Pathfinder will get a major refresh or we will have to wait for 2021 for some a complete overhaul. However, we assume that the 2020 Nissan Pathfinder will continue with the same styling and could get some small upgrades. The front fascia will wear the well-known V-motion grille with chrome details and conservative headlamps. The base model will ride on the standard 18-inch wheels while the SL and Platinum trim levels will get the larger 20-inch wheels.

2020 Nissan Pathfinder front

The 2020 Nissan Pathfinder will continue with standard three rows of seats and will be able to welcome up to seven passengers. The head and leg room are pretty good for the two first rows while the third row is a bit tight. The dashboard is simple and it is equipped with an 8.0-inch touchscreen for the infotainment system. Most of the trim levels feature shiny black interior trim while the higher trims have matte-finish faux wood trim which gives it a more premium look. Behind the third row, the Pathfinder has the cargo room of 16.2 cubic feet which expands to 80 cubes with the second and the third row folded down.

The standard equipment in all the models includes power features, an 8.0-inch touchscreen, three-zone automatic climate control, parking sensors, USB, and so on. The higher trims will add 20-inch wheels, cooled front seats, Bose audio system, leather upholstery, heated seats and a steering wheel, a surround-view camera, etc.
