The upcoming 2020 Nissan Armada has been already announced and sometime next year, we can expect to see it with a few upgrades. This means that it should get more safety features and perhaps a few upgrades inside the cabin. The engine will remain the same while the exterior could receive some new colors.
2020 Nissan Armada powertrain and performance
The 2020 Nissan Armada will return with the well-known engine which powers the current model and there is one option for all the trims. So, it is a 5.6-liter V-8 engine which is capable of making 390 hp and the torque of 394 pound-feet. The powertrain is mated to a 7-speed automatic transmission. There is also a choice between rear-wheel drive and all-wheel drive layouts. Furthermore, the Armada is able to tow up to 8,500 pounds which sounds great. In terms of fuel consumption, when connected to a rear-wheel drive system, it is rated at 14 mpg in the city and 19 mpg on the highway. The all-wheel drive model gets 13 mpg in the city and 18 mpg on the highway.
The exterior and interior design
Visually, the 2020 Nissan Armada looks handsome and chunky, and it reminds us a lot like the Infiniti QX80. Up front, there is a massive grille with two V- shaped bars and large headlights. On the rear, we will notice revised taillights. The base model will ride on the standard 18-inch alloy wheels while the higher trim levels will get the larger 20-inch wheels which will give it a more premium look.
Inside, the 2020 Nissan Armada provides great comfort and premium atmosphere with its top-notch materials, modern technology, and some nice wood trim and luxurious finish. The three-row seating configuration is standard, and all the seats are very comfortable and supportive. The spaciousness is also very generous. The outward visibility is great too. As for the cargo space, behind the third row, the Armada has the room of 16.5 cubic feet. With the third row folded down it expands to 49.9 cubes. However, the maximum cargo capacity is 95.4 cubic feet when the second row is folded down as well. In the center of the dashboard, there is standard 8.0-inch touchscreen for the infotainment system.
2020 Nissan Armada trim levels
The 2020 Nissan Armada will be available in SV, SL, and Platinum trim levels. However, there is also the range-topping Platinum Reserve model. The SV model will have a Bose audio system with 14 speakers, keyless entry-ignition, an 8.0-inch touchscreen, navigation, front and rear parking sensors, many safety features, hands-free text-messaging assistance, and so on. The SL will add 20-inch wheels, rain-sensing wipers, fog lights, a power tailgate and self-dimming mirrors. The Platinum model will include a heated steering, wheel, rear-seat entertainment system, an intelligent rearview mirror, 360-degree camera system, and many other features.
Release date and price of the 2020 Nissan Armada
