The carmaker has announced the all-new 2020 Mazda CX-9, which will hit the road with several upgrades compared to the current model. Inside the cabin, the manufacturer will upgrade it with more tech features while on the engine front, it will use the same engine as the current model.

The new 2020 Mazda CX-9 will come with the same engine which powers the current model. It is the well-known 2.5-liter inline-4 turbocharged Skyactive-G engine, which can make 227 horses and the torque of 310 lb-ft. This engine comes paired with 6-speed automatic transmission. And it will be offered with front-wheel drive and all-wheel-drive configurations. With only front-wheel drive, this unit gets 22 mpg in the city and 28 mpg on the highway. The fuel economy for the version with all-wheel-drive is estimated at 20 mpg in the city and 26 mpg on the highway. Its towing capacity will be up to 3,500 pounds.

The exterior and interior design
As for the exterior design, the CX-9 will look like the larger version of the CX-5 model, and it is an elegant SUV characterized by a long hood, slim headlamps, and large grille. The rear end is dominated by the pair of exhaust outlets, which give it a sportier look and horizontal taillights.

The Touring model will add leather seats, a power liftgate, an 8.0-inch touchscreen for infotainment, and power-adjustable front seats.
The Grand Touring comes with adaptive cruise control, dual-pane sunroof, a head-up display, 20-inch wheels, heated first and second rows of seats, a heated steering wheel, and adaptive headlights.
The Signature models will get Bose audio, LED lights, LED interior lighting, and rosewood interior trim.
Release date and price
The manufacturer still hasn’t revealed when the 2020 Mazda CX-9 will go on sale. However, it might be sometime next year. The starting price is expected to be around $33,200.
