The well-known Chevrolet manufacturer is preparing the new 2020 Chevy Traverse which should be presented next year. This time, we can expect changes in exterior colors and upgrades considering technology and some new packages. For now, we are pretty sure that it will offer the same engine options as its predecessor.
Engine and performance of the 2020 Chevy Traverse
The all-new 2020 Chevy Traverse will return with the same range of engine options and there will be two units to choose from. So, the one is going to be a 2.0-liter inline-4 turbocharged engine. This unit is able to deliver 255 horsepower and the torque of 295 pound-feet. It will be paired with a smooth-shifting 9-speed automatic gearbox and will be offered with the front-wheel drive system only. This engine will be rated at 20 mpg in the city and 26 mpg on the highway.
The more powerful option is going to be a 3.6-liter V-6 engine. This unit will be capable of producing 310 horsepower and 266 lb-ft of torque. It will also work with the new 9-speed automatic transmission. However, besides the standard front-wheel drive layout, it will offer an optional all-wheel drive configuration. Connected to front wheels, it will get 18 mpg in the city and 27 mpg on the highway. The all-wheel drive model will be rated at 17 mpg in the city and 25 mpg on the highway. It will be able to tow up to 5,000 pounds.
The exterior and interior design
The upcoming 2020 Chevy Traverse will keep up with its modern and handsome design with its familiar raked nose which improves its aerodynamics. On the front end, there is an attractive grille which is placed a bit higher and a pair of nicely designed headlamps. The rear end will wear its familiar slim taillights. However, considering changes, the newest Chevy is expected to get some new exterior colors.
Inside, the 2020 Chevy Traverse should get some changes depending on a trim level. This means that we are expecting upgrades on the technology front and changes to packages. However, the three-row seating configuration will remain the same, so the Chevy will be able to place up to eight passengers. The front seats are all-day cozy and supportive and the second row also provide excellent room. Furthermore, the third row is also very spacious and can place adults comfortably. As for the cargo, behind the third row, there is a room of 23 cubic feet. And with front seats up only, it expands to more than 98 cubic feet.
The standard equipment will include a 7.0-inch touchscreen for the infotainment system, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, cloth seats, three-zone climate control, 18-inch wheels, six USB ports, a rearview camera, keyless ignition, etc. The f=higher trim levels will add a Bose audio system, a power tailgate, a surround-view camera, blind-spot, and rear cross-traffic alerts, LED headlights, and many other features.
Release date and price of the 2020 Chevy Traverse
We are expecting to see the brand-new 2020 Chevy Traverse sometime in the middle of 2019. The price will probably remain similar to the current which begins at $30,000.
