SUV segment is growing enormously fast. Literally, every established carmaker is offering a wide lineup of SUVs and crossovers. BMW is no different, as the upcoming 2020 BMW X7 is about to arrive. This SUV looks futuristic, especially the front end highlighted by the extremely large kidney grille. The full-size three-row SUV will arrive later in 2019 and it will be astonishing in every possible way.
The premium BMW X7 is perfect for families and it shares plenty of styling cues with the X5 and X6 models. Every inch of the vehicle looks modern and attractive. That includes the interior as well. Under the hood, X7 is offering two options. The xDrive40i comes with the 3.0-liter engine and the xDrive50i with the 4.4-liter V8 unit.
Exterior Design
The forthcoming 2020 BMW X7 is 203-inch long full-size SUV. When the concept was released, no one actually believed the production model will look exactly the same. But it did. The X7 looks very attractive, imposing and futuristic. The design is very stylish and modern. The front end sports one of the largest front grilles we’ve seen so far.
Kidney grille is flanked by the attractive LED headlights. Premium look continues in the back with the taillights similar to the taillights on the X5 model. Even the rear bumper is very similar, if not the same but larger. Optional moonroof is huge and one of the most popular choices among the customers.
2020 BMW X7 Interior Details
The upcoming 2020 BMW X7 offers room for seven passengers across the three rows of seats. The cabin is very spacious and comfortable. The second row is a bench for three, but customers can opt for the individual captain’s chairs. The third row is also roomy and it can easily fit the adults. Trunks space is rated at 48.6 cubic feet.
Up front, the dashboard is classic BMW’s. That means the dash is driver-oriented and it looks premium. The analog instrument cluster is history now and a 12.3-inch digital unit is responsible for most of the operations. Also, the steering wheel comes with numerous controls. There is an additional 12.3-inch touchscreen on the center console. The latest infotainment system is available and it is very user-friendly.
Two Engine Choices
The upcoming full-size SUV will offer two engine variants. The first one is named xDrive40i and it comes with a 3.0-liter turbocharged six-cylinder engine. This unit is providing up to 335 horses and 330 lb-ft of torque. Also, the 8-speed automatic transmission is available and the 2020 BMW X7 reaches from 0 to 60 mph in 5.8 seconds.
The xDrive50i is offering a 4.4-liter V8 twin-turbo powertrain that cranks out 456 horsepower and 479 lb-ft of torque. This model also deploys an 8-speed automatic gearbox and it sprints from 0 to 60 mph in 5.2 seconds. All-wheel-drive is available on both variants.
2020 BMW X7 Price and Release Date
The all-new 2020 BMW X7 starts at around $70,000. The xDrive50i model will cost significantly more, at around $92,000. The arriving full-size three-row SUV will hit the showrooms in the first half of 2019.
