New 2020 Volvo XC90 SUV comes with numerous updates. However, the announced redesign was obviously speculation. Whatsoever, Volvo says the all-new model will arrive with the facelift. However, even design changes are hard to spot. Do your best. On the other hand, the XC90 SUV will get more safety features and a new hybrid trim level.
Moreover, Android Auto is finally in the offer. The Swedish automaker has some big plans for XC90 SUV. For the start, Volvo wants to move production from China to the United States. We can also expect further interior refreshments as well. Performance-wise, things will stay intact.
Exterior and Interior Facelift
Announced redesign won’t happen and it was obviously just a rumor. Interestingly, Swedish automotive giant claims there will be numerous exterior changes. We failed to spot any of them. The 2020 Volvo XC90 comes with new optional wheels and reshaped grille. Besides that, new color options are available, along with other subtle changes.
So far, we didn’t see any of these upgrades. Whatsoever, XC90 still looks great and attractive. The front end looks stylish with smaller air vents and a larger grille. Distinctive LED headlights are available once again and 18-inch wheels will remain a standard option. You can equip XC90 SUV with optional 21-inch rims. The tailgate is easy to use, especially with the optional hands-free system.
From the inside, Volvo will introduce a new wool blend interior. It is a perfect cover for the seats and trims. Finally, Android Auto is available and the infotainment system will get an update. Apart from that, the interior will remain the same.
Safety Improvements
The upcoming 2020 Volvo XC90 comes with a better safety rating. This SUV now offers a steering assist that is paired with the blind spot monitoring system. Pedestrian detection, lane keep assist, automatic braking, and cross-traffic alert are available as well.
Furthermore, Volvo confirmed the inclusion of the lane mitigation system. Those systems will join the long list of driver-assistance features. Safety rating will be significantly better now, no doubt about it. However, the five-star safety rating is available only on the upper trim levels.

Together, this combination is good for 400 horsepower. You can charge an XC90 SUV in four hours. However, the all-electric driving range is still far from the other competitors, only 14 miles. However, Volvo announced further improvements to the hybrid system.
