The upcoming 2022 Jeep Wrangler 4xe is the brand-new SUV. For the first time, the famous Wrangler model will get a plug-in hybrid variant. The 4xe variant will use a turbo 2.0-liter engine in combination with two electric motors. Thanks to that, this hybrid SUV will produce a lot of power, significantly more than the regular gasoline or diesel-powered Wrangler.
Besides that, Wrangler will gain further refreshments in terms of exterior and interior design. However, changes are minor, so we don’t expect major upgrades. This is great timing to introduce a hybrid version. As you know, Ford Bronco is coming to the markets and it will directly rival Wrangler SUV.
2022 Wrangler 4xe Facelift
The all-new 2022 Jeep Wrangler 4xe will slightly depart from the regular Wrangler. Both models are offering the same rugged and practical exterior design. However, the 4xe variant will wear unique Electric Blue accents and a charging port. On top of that, there is an LED light bar that shows the charging status. The Wrangler 4xe comes in three trim levels.
This hybrid version can be had in regular 4xe, Sahara 4xe, and Rubicon 4xe models. And while the first two trims are using a full-time four-wheel-drive system, Rubicon 4xe offers a lot more. That includes a 4×4 driving setup, improved crawl ratio, axle lockers, and much more. The 2022MY will introduce minor cosmetic upgrades and you can still choose between two-door and four-door models.
Interior Updates
As before, Wrangler will continue to deliver mild updates. The interior will gain a slightly better look with more modern amenities. For a start, the 2022 Jeep Wrangler 4xe offers the newest infotainment system and the latest safety aids. Besides that, the updates are very minor.
The rest of the cabin largely remains, and the 4xe variant looks the same as the rest of the Wrangler’s lineup. The interior remains very practical, while the comfort is surprisingly good. Of course, upper trim levels are offering more luxury, but generally, Wrangler SUV is modern enough and upright.
MPG, Driving Range
The forthcoming 2022 Jeep Wrangler 4xe is a new variant that comes with a plug-in hybrid powertrain. The Wrangler 4xe will use a 2.0-liter turbocharged engine in combination with a pair of electric motors. Furthermore, a 17.3-kWh lithium-ion battery is available. This output is capable of producing 375 horsepower and up to 470 lb-ft of torque.
Furthermore, Wrangler 4xe will provide around 25 miles of all-electric range. Not only the hybrid powertrain is more efficient, but it also develops more power than regular gasoline and diesel engines. From what we know, this version will also provide around 50 MPGe. An eight-speed automatic transmission comes as standard, so Wrangler 4xe is the most capable Wrangler so far.
2022 Jeep Wrangler 4xe Price, Release Date
The price of the regular Wrangler will start at $28,500. On the other hand, the 2022 Jeep Wrangler 4xe will cost around $49,000. This hybrid variant is available in three trim levels and only in four-door body style. The sales will begin later in 2021 and Wrangler will rival the brand-new Ford Bronco.
