The approaching 2021 Volvo XC60 is the mid-size SUV that is getting additional refreshments. This luxury model comes with the character. It looks modern and very attractive. The 2021 XC60 will introduce further exterior and interior changes.
Swedish manufacturer clearly plans to tackle more luxurious models such as Mercedes-Benz GLC, Audi Q5, BMW X3, and even Acura RDX. For that reason, you can expect plenty of innovations and updates. On top of that, a plug-in hybrid version is very probable for 2021.
2021 XC60 Exterior Facelift
The arriving 2021 Volvo XC60 is an elegant mid-size SUV. Its dimensions and shape will largely remain for 2021. However, the design will benefit from the latest changes. Volvo’s goal is to deliver a more competitive design that should help this SUV to tackle more luxury rivals. The XC60 is slotted between XC40 and larger XC70 models and nothing will change in that department. That means the robust appearance remains and XC60 looks larger than it actually is.
For 2021, this model will get a wider grille that wears iconic “Thor’s Hammer” design. Moreover, you can expect subtle changes on the doors and the rear part will gain thinner taillights. Upper trims are looking impressive and you can even buy an optional R-Line package. This package adds a more aggressive appearance and it adds larger wheels and gloss-black features.
Interior Refreshments
The upcoming SUV will look very modern and premium inside the cabin. The 2021 Volvo XC60 will introduce a couple of interior refreshments. Some rumors are suggesting a new-gen model in 2021, but that will most likely not happen. For that reason, don’t expect such major changes on the inside. The interior remains roomy and comfortable. There will be three crucial trim levels to choose from and range-topping Inscription trim looks incredible.
On the other hand, the base model comes with a moonroof, dual-zone climate control and 9-inch display. Upper trim levels are offering a standard all-wheel-drive setup.
On top of that, the new XC60 could get its first hybrid version. According to the latest reports, the T8 model will offer a hybrid powertrain that will deliver over 400 horsepower and almost 500 lb-ft of torque.
