The upcoming 2021 Nissan Qashqai is getting on the markets later next year. The first-gen model lasted from 2006 to 2013. Now, the third-gen Qashqai is almost ready to conquer, and it will arrive with significant upgrades. The approaching SUV will get an exterior redesign and it will look better as a result.
Moreover, the cabin will also go through a full overhaul, so even the interior will be significantly changed. However, the biggest change is a new platform and all-electric powertrain. According to the latest reports, the Japanese manufacturer will get rid of diesel engine. No doubts, exciting times for this gorgeous SUV, let’s just hope the 2021 Qashqai doesn’t disappoint us.
New Platform is Followed by Exterior Redesign
The all-new 2021 Nissan Qashqai is the next-gen model. For that reason, changes are a must, and we are talking about significant ones. As we already wrote in the beginning, one of the biggest upgrades will be new architecture. It is a modified CMF platform, the latest product of the Renault-Nissan alliance. More importantly, new underpinnings will be able to accommodate electric powertrains. This SUV will largely benefit from it in many ways.
Besides the better ride quality, the new Qashqai will arrive with improved handling and it will act better on the road. As for the exterior redesign, we don’t have that much information. The approaching model will deliver a new design that is based on the IMQ concept. The iconic V-shaped grille will remain but the gaping front air ducts are surely gone now. Besides that, Nissan will deliver new exterior features and new exterior color options.
2021 Nissan Qashqai Interior Revamp
The interior will also go through serious modifications. The future 2021 Nissan Qashqai is getting a lot of upgrades. For a start, the cabin will look more futuristic thanks to the latest modern updates. Again, Qashqai will borrow basically everything from the IMQ concept.
That means we can expect incredible design with a lot of tech a room for five passengers. As for the new features, a 12.3-inch display will be standard, just like inside the new Nissan Ariya. Moreover, Nissan’s ProPilot suite is about to get more autonomous driving systems.
2021 Qashqai is Going All-Electric
Big news from Nissan as Qashqai will go all-electric. This crossover-SUV is getting an electrified powertrain option, besides the plug-in hybrid variant. The speculations already started, but no one actually knows the Qashqai EV’s exact specifications. Some rumors are suggesting the same output as Nissan Leaf has to offer. Some other speculations are saying the powertrain will be the same as in Nissan Ariya.
If Qashqai borrows Leaf’s tech, it will produce around 150 horsepower and a range of 235 miles. We think that is unlikely to happen for many reasons. As for the plug-in hybrid version, the e-Power system is coming to the markets. It is Nissan’s new technology that combines a regular gasoline engine with the electric motor and the battery pack.
Arrival Date and Pricing Details
With such significant improvements, the new 2021 Nissan Qashqai will surely cost more than its predecessor. New design, revamped interior and all-electric powertrain will raise the price to almost $30,000.
This is just an early prediction and also the most likely outcome. As for the release date, the future 2021 Qashqai is going on sale later in 2020, possibly in November.
