On top of that, Edge ST rides on larger 20-inch alloy rims and it hosts dual exhaust outlets. The 2022MY will introduce new exterior colors, Lithium Gray and Carbonized Gray.
New Touchscreen Option
The 2022 Ford Edge is known for its modern and comfortable interior. The cabin uses a lot of soft-touch surfaces and premium materials. There will be room for five passengers across the two rows of seats. Cargo area is above average and a new model will be slightly wider, which will result in a more generous shoulder room. As we said, Edge SUV will now offer a bigger 12-inch infotainment touchscreen.
On top of that, Ford’s latest SYNC4 infotainment system is also on offer. New system will add even more amenities and features such as Android Auto and Apple CarPlay will be offered as standard. The manufacturer also plans to add more safety aids such as automated emergency braking and lane-keeping assist.
Two Engine Choices
The forthcoming 2022 Ford Edge offers the same two engine options as its predecessor. Everything starts with a potent 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine. This unit is capable of producing 250 horsepower and it comes with the standard front-wheel-drive system. If you want even more power, the Edge ST model comes with a 2.7-liter V6 engine.
Thanks to that, Edge ST SUV develops up to 335 horsepower. This variant offers a standard all-wheel-drive setup, along with the eight-speed automatic transmission. On top of that, Ford provides fuel-saving systems, and the ST model also delivers gearshift paddles.
2022 Ford Edge Release Date, Price
From what we know, the new 2022 Ford Edge will go on sale in the second half of 2021. Most likely, this SUV will hit the dealerships in October. The price is slightly higher so new Edge will cost $32,500. If you want the Edge ST variant, you’ll have to pay around $50,000.
