Infiniti confirmed its all-new model. The upcoming 2021 Infiniti QX55 will slot between the QX50 and QX60 crossovers. Whatsoever, the design of the new model is based on the QX50. On the other hand, new QX55 will depart in different ways, and it will look sportier. Moreover, the highlight of the new crossover is its coupe-like form that surely looks unique.
Infiniti will add more safety equipment, and it will look more modern inside the cabin. The main goal is to rival approaching models such as Mercedes-Benz GLC Coupe and BMW X4. In order to do that, Infiniti will offer the same engine that powers the QX50 model. It is a 2.0-liter turbo-four engine that offers good power and fuel economy figures.
2021 QX55 Comes With A Coupe-Like Design
The upcoming 2021 Infiniti QX55 will look unique and sportier than the rest of the company’s models. This crossover features a coupe-like design and similar styling can be found on BMW’s and Mercedes’ models. So far, teaser photo is all we have. The roofline looks very impressive, along with the rear windscreen.
The roof looks larger than it actually is, and this mid-size crossover will provide exceptional visibility on the inside. The sporty vibe is present, and we can also expect a couple of premium features. That includes new wheels, additional chrome accents, and the moonroof.
Interior Details
So far, we didn’t see any interior details. The 2021 Infiniti QX55 will surely look modern, and it will provide great comfort. The new crossover will borrow a couple of features and cues from its larger sibling, QX60 model. Front bucket seats will be optional on the base trim level, and the comfort will be genuinely excellent. New QX55 is larger than the QX50, and it will logically provide more interior room.
However, don’t expect better legroom. Cargo area will provide more space, surely. The flat-bottom steering wheel will be standard, along with the new In Touch infotainment system. On the other hand, leather upholstery and Bose audio system will be optional.
Turbo-Four Engine Provides Great Performances
The approaching 2021 Infiniti QX55 will use the same engine as its QX50 brother. It is a 2.0-liter variable-compression turbo-four unit that provides great fuel efficiency. Moreover, this engine is producing up to 270 hp and 280 lb-ft of torque. New Infiniti’s model will be rated at 24 mpg in the city and 31 mpg on the highway.
Loading the AWD setup will drop those figures to 24/30. Infiniti QX55 will be a front-wheel-drive model. On top of that, it will offer a CVT transmission. Some rumors are even suggesting a hybrid version in 2021. It will happen for sure, but not as soon as many expected.
2021 Infiniti QX55 Price and Release Date
The price of the brand-new 2021 Infiniti QX55 is still not available. However, because it slots between QX50 and QX60 models, the price isn’t that hard to determine. New Infiniti’s mid-size crossover will probably cost around $40,000.
It will go on sale at some point in 2020, most likely in the last quarter. The 2021 QX55 will compete against Mercedes-Benz GLC Coupe and BMW X4.
