The Porsche’s smallest crossover SUV will be ready to hit the market sometime next year with some mild improvements and it is the 2020 Porsche Macan. The new Macan will most likely get some changes in external appearance with revised grille and headlamps, and new LED lighting. The interior is expected to be upgraded with new technology while in the engine front, the manufacturer will offer diesel versions of this model for Europe.
Engines and performances of the 2020 Porsche Macan
The upcoming 2020 Porsche Macan will offer the same engine options as the current model. So, the base model will use a 2.0-liter turbocharged engine which will be able to make either 252 or 245 horses and the torque of 273 pound-feet. It is faster than the previous models and can hit 62 mph in 6.7 seconds. Its top speed will be limited to 139 mph.
The next is a 3.0-liter V-6 twin-turbo engine which will be found in the Macan S model. This unit will be able to make 356 hp and the torque of 339 lb-ft. This one will reach 62 mph in 5.2 seconds and its top speed will be 156 mph. Furthermore, the Macan Turbo will use a stronger 3.6-liter V-6 engine. This powerplant will be capable of producing 400 horses and 406 pound-feet of torque. It will be able to go from 0 to 62 mph in 4.6 seconds. Its top speed will be limited to 164 mph. As well, this model is available with a Performance Package which will provide the output of 440 hp and 443 pound-feet of torque. All the models will be mated to a seven-speed transmission and all-wheel drive system.
Diesel options
Furthermore, the European market will also offer a diesel engine. So, the base model will use a 3.0-liter V-6 turbodiesel unit which will make 211 hp and 428 lb-ft of torque. The more powerful version will be powered by the same engine. But it will be able to make 258 hp and the torque of 428 lb-ft. They will also use the same 7-speed gearbox and standard AWD.
Exterior and interior
In terms of external appearance, the 2020 Porsche Macan features an attractive and handsome design. Up front, there is a sporty grille and revised headlamps with four-point LED lighting. And they come as standard on every model. Below the grille, we will notice restyled air intakes which give it sportier and wider look. Furthermore, the rear end there are the same taillights similar to the ones found in the 911model and the LED strip with Porsche letter. As well, the Porsche will also offer new wheels.
The interior of the 2020 Porsche Macan is well designed and the first thing we will notice is the larger 11.0-inch touchscreen for the infotainment system on the dashboard. The manufacturer will also offer more equipment, a sportier steering wheel, and new trim options.
Release date and price
The newest 2020 Porsche Macan might arrive sometime at the end of next year. The price probably won’t be much different from the outgoing model which is around $47,800 for the base version.
