2020 Land Rover Defender: Interior, Price, Redesign

The all-new 2020 Land Rover Defender has been spotted during its testing and wearing lots of camouflage. However, despite the camouflage, the Defender will most likely get some similar design cues from the Range Rover Sport and will be completely overhauled. On the other side, it will retain its well-known boxy look. Inside the cabin, the manufacturer will restyle it with new materials and the latest technologies. Under the hood, it will be offered with petrol and diesel engine and it is very likely to get a new plug-in hybrid engine as well.

The upcoming 2020 Land Rover Defender will hit the market with a few engine options under its hood. Some of those will include gasoline and some diesel units. So, the one option will most likely be a 2.0-liter 4-cylinder gasoline engine. This unit will be able to make 247 horses and 267 pound-feet of torque. From the diesel option, the Defender will be available with a 2.0-liter 4-cylinder engine. This unit will have the output of 180 hp and the torque of 318 pound-feet.

According to some sources, we might also see the new plug-in hybrid engine. This engine should be a combination of the 2.0-liter 4-cylinder turbocharged engine, an electric motor of 85 kWh, and a lithium-ion battery of 13.1 kWh. This powertrain should be able to generate 398 hp and 472 pound-feet of torque. Its all-electric range will be around 31 miles. Moreover, the new Defender could also receive the 6-cylinder engine, but its output is not yet known.

The upcoming 2020 Land Rover Defender has been spotted during its testing and wearing camouflage all over the body. First of all, the new Defender is expected to have an aluminum body and aluminum chassis. So, it will be definitively lighter compared to the previous models which will improve fuel efficiency and handling.

The bumper might also get a small nip-and-tuck.

As far as the interior design of the 2020 Land Rover Defender, unfortunately, the manufacturer hasn’t revealed much information. However, like the exterior, the cabin of the new Defender will definitively be upgraded with new and more quality materials. We can expect mo. There soft-touch surfaces, and better upholstery. As for the technology, the Defender should net a new display with the latest infotainment system and more standard and optional features and safety systems.
