The 2020 Infiniti QX70 is coming back to the markets. After this model was killed in 2017, the mid-size crossover is making a quick return. The all-new generation is in the works and QX70 will introduce plenty of changes. That includes both exterior and interior redesign. Also, previous 5.0-liter engine is gone and Infiniti will offer smaller but powerful unit.
The 2020 QX70 will offer plenty of elegance and attractive exterior design. Everything from the inside will look and feel premium and upscale. A five-seat configuration will remain and this model will offer more interior room than its predecessor. Speaking of previous models, the mid-size crossover was present in the past under the name “FX”.
2020 Infiniti QX70 Exterior Redesign
The all-new 2020 Infiniti QX70 will arrive with very modern styling and attractive design. However, the mid-size crossover will need to look unique and stylish. Remember, the company is already offering a QX50 model. It is a crossover with almost the same size. That means the new-generation QX70 can’t look similar to the mentioned model.
For that reason, Infiniti will slightly depart from the traditional design language. Knowing that the complete exterior redesign is the only solution. This model will get a longer wheelbase and it will offer an all-new platform. According to some reports, QX70 will borrow underpinnings from the current Nissan Murano. That means the front-wheel-drive setup will be standard.
Also, styling is really unique and innovative. We don’t know if the same styling will be applied on all Infiniti’s future crossovers. It is surely an option but QX70 will surely make a standout. It looks elegant with the coupe-like form and impressive character lines. Front part will get new headlights and a larger grille. The bumper will be more aggressive and the crossover will be lighter than its predecessor.
Interior Specs
The forthcoming 2020 Infiniti QX70 will get an interior redesign as well. However, don’t expect radical changes. A five-seat layout will remain, just like the layout of the buttons. However, new Infiniti QX70 will get the newest high-tech features and more safety aids.
One thing that everyone liked and that will remain is the analog clock. Analog clock looks traditional and elegant. Unlike the exterior, the interior will be similar to the QX50 model. That includes the shapes of the buttons and air vents. Some rumors are saying the third row will be optional, but that seems impossible at the moment.
The new platform and longer wheelbase will provide more interior room. Comfort will be on the highest possible level. Nothing less than expected from such a luxury crossover. Also, QX70 will offer numerous optional packages such as Technology Package and Premium Package.
New V6 Engine and Transmission
The mid-size crossover will ride on a single engine option. The previous model was offering a 5.0-liter V8. That engine is not available anymore and the 2020 Infiniti QX70 will deliver smaller displacement. It is a 3.7-liter V6 that still delivers plenty of power.
The engine is rated at 325 horsepower and 267 lb-ft of torque. The engine is mated to a 7-speed automatic transmission. On top of that, a manual-shift mode will be in the offer too. Also, an Adaptive Shift Control system is available.
The system will learn the driver’s way of shifting gears and it will perform the same shifting automatically. A new platform means the QX70 will be a front-wheel-drive model. Whatsoever, Infiniti will offer an optional all-wheel-drive system.
2020 Infiniti QX70 Price and Release Date
The new-gen 2020 Infiniti QX70 will be priced at around $50,000. There will be numerous trim levels, and upper trims such as Luxe will cost up to $70,000. The mid-size crossover will go on sale in the second half of 2019.
